Harold’s Domain (haroldchow.com) serves as the personal web site for Harold J. Chow. Originally launched on March 9, 1995 on a U.C. Berkeley web server, Harold continues to maintain this web site to stay abreast of the latest and greatest methods of displaying and conveying content online.
As Harold’s other commitments have grown, Harold has become increasingly selective as to what technologies to utilize on his site. As a personal website, Harold’s Domain serves as both a hobby and as a source for information; not only about Harold and his life, but also for what he may find useful or interesting enough to “blog” about.
Technologies used on this site currently or in the past include HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, server-parsed HTML, Perl5/CGI, PHP, MySQL, AJAX, Macromedia Flash, and Emblaze Audio. While in the past, Harold attempted to author this site to provide the best possible experience for older browsers as well as current browsers, he will focus on the most popular browsers (site currently tested in IE 7.0 and Firefox 2.x) starting with version 5.0 of this site due to time constraints. Harold also has plans to improve the site for viewing via mobile device, but after switching web hosts and concurrently implementing a new website design, Harold has other website matters to take care of first.
