A new year, a new attitude
Posted over 5 years ago on January 5th, 2005 at 4:55 pm » Personal, Old Stuff.Happy new year! Harold discusses his resolutions for 2005.
As “they” say, one must write down his resolutions to ensure that he follows through on them. To that end, I hereby make the following resolutions:
- I will post an update on my website at least once every two weeks. This means that I may take a more blog-style approach. In order to generate new content, I may chronicle my performance regarding my resolutions. This does not mean, however, that I can’t just write some of the content in advance.
- Although I’ve lost almost forty pounds over the last five or six years, I resolve to lose more weight. For now, I’ll set the target at around fifteen pounds of net weight loss for 2005.
- I want to learn to play the guitar well enough to perform at least one song.
- I want to sing at least once in public, though probably not while playing a musical instrument. This resolution does not including singing in my car with my windows up. Karaoke, anyone?
- I resolve to create something–a short story, a novel, a script, a movie, a piece of artwork that goes beyond a mere pencil sketch or, time permitting, all of the above. This might be the most difficult challenge, so I will allow myself to continue from projects I may have started in the past if needed.
As this is my personal website, I will refrain from listing professional goals here. After all, I would hate to see this website become more of a chore than a hobby.
