Quick update

Harold provides a quick update on site maintenance.

I’ve recently begun the tedious process of making my frames-based site more bookmark-friendly. As my time for this project is limited, you may notice pages becoming bookmark-able in small numbers at a time. Just don’t feel the need to report that certain links are changing the browser’s displayed address while others are not.

Secondly, I don’t think I jinxed Sony’s release of the 2.0 firmware upgrade for the PSP by mentioning it in my last update. My guess? I think it has something to do with hackers reporting that they found a way to run so-called “homebrew” applications on the Japanese version of the 2.0 upgrade. Sony probably heard about this and has feverishly tried to come up with a solution to patch this hole. By not providing an official explanation for the delay, however, Sony certainly will not win many fans.

Lastly, if you’ve seen The Simpsons Season 6 DVD box set but have hesitated to purchase it because of the crazy packaging, fear not! According to an insert in the packaging, FOX is providing an old-style box “free of charge” (meaning you need to pay $3 in the US for shipping and handling) by calling an 800#. My suggestion? Call after hours to hear a special recording by Homer, then go to the website address he provides if you still want the box. I’ve heard reports of other people’s boxes falling apart, but mine seems to work ok. In 4-6 weeks though, I’ll report on the replacement box.
