2009

Well, 2009 seems to have breezed by without me getting around to updating my website. In all fairness, I did take time to switch web hosting services. After my old web host announced an intention to migrate its customers from basically a VPS setup to a shared hosting platform, I shopped around and ended up with EcVPS. I figured at $10/mo. for a Linux VPS, how could I go wrong? So far, EcVPS has provided me with pretty reliable service, and I’ve found their customer support quite helpful, so I figured they’ve earned a plug here (plus they wisely sent me an affiliate link without my asking).

As the year closes, I don’t have a lot to say other than, perhaps, good riddance? The economy certainly hasn’t allowed for many bright spots this year, and numerous untimely celebrity deaths this year really make this a year worth moving past. I will say, though, that I think the recent terrorist attempt to blow up an airliner seems like an intentional failure. After all, the last time they failed to blow up a plane, they made it so everyone had to take their shoes off to go through airport security. Putting explosives in a terrorist’s underwear just means a worse experience for travelers. Moving forward, I would think that individual vigilence would go a long way towards making things safer.

May 2010 treat us all much better than 2009 has.
